Payments are processed in ZAR (South African Rand) by PayFast, while PayPal payments are processed in US Dollars and must then be converted. For donors, PayFast is a familiar and trusted payment platform, which allows them to make donations without any concerns about security.
PayFast allows your donors to give in multiple ways:
- Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard)
- Instant EFT
- Bitcoin
- mobicred
- MasterPass
All payments are made through the PCI-compliant hosted payment form on PayFast’s website.

- PayFast merchant account
- Your currency must be set to South African Rand — PayFast does not accept payments in any other currency.
