Sell tickets, track attendees, and check people in at the door, all inside Charitable. Every ticket is a donation, so revenue rolls into your campaign, receipts come out tax-ready, and there is no second system to reconcile. Built into Charitable, with no code and the payment gateways you already use.

Most nonprofits run their events in one tool and their fundraising in another. Tickets sell through an events plugin or an outside platform, donations live in Charitable, and at the end of the quarter someone reconciles the two by hand. The tax side usually slips, too: when a ticket includes a dinner or an experience, only part of it is a deductible gift, and generic ticketing tools do not know the difference. Charitable Events closes that gap. Your events become part of the fundraising you already run, inside the WordPress dashboard you already use.

Key Features

Every Ticket Is a Donation

Charitable Events is built on one idea: an event belongs to a campaign. When someone buys a ticket, that purchase is a Charitable donation like any other. It runs through the gateway you already use, it counts toward the campaign goal, and the buyer appears in your donor reports. There is no separate dashboard to reconcile and no export-import dance at year end.

Tickets That Are Ready for Tax Time

When a supporter pays for a gala seat, only the amount above the fair market value of the dinner and entertainment is tax deductible. Charitable Events understands that. Set a fair market value on each ticket type and the plugin does the math on every purchase, right down to your annual tax receipts, so donors get a correct record and you do no arithmetic by hand.

Sell Exactly the Tickets You Need

Create as many ticket types as an event calls for: general admission, VIP, early bird, sponsor tables, free RSVPs. Each type has its own price, its own tax treatment, and its own capacity. When a type sells out it stops selling, and the limit holds even when two people reach checkout at the same time.

Know Exactly Who Is Coming

Every ticket creates an attendee record. Decide what to ask at checkout with custom questions, and Charitable Events stores the answers on each attendee: meal choice, t-shirt size, accessibility needs, a guest’s name. Search and export the full list per event or across all your events, ready for the caterer, the badges, or the door.

Check People In From a Phone

When the doors open, point any phone’s camera at the attendee’s QR code, confirm their name, and tap Check In. A live roster shows who has already arrived across every scanner at the door, so no one is admitted twice. Forgot the code? Search by name and check them in by hand. There is no app to install.

Their Phone Is Their Ticket

After checkout, every attendee gets a “My Tickets” section on their receipt, styled to match the rest of Charitable. Each attendee has their own card with their details and a QR code to present at the door. No printing, no separate ticketing email. The receipt is the ticket.

Put Your Events Anywhere

Charitable Events adds three blocks to the WordPress editor, in their own Charitable Events group: Events List for a grid of upcoming or past events, Single Event for one event’s full details, and Get Tickets for a buy button on any page. Set a featured image and it shows up in your listings. No shortcodes to memorize.

Show Events on the Calendar You Already Use

Charitable Events pairs with Sugar Calendar and also supports The Events Calendar. Create an event in Charitable and it appears on your calendar automatically, so visitors browse in the interface they already know while tickets, attendees, and money stay in Charitable.

Run Virtual and Hybrid Events, Gated Properly

Not every event happens in a room. Charitable Events supports virtual and hybrid events with gated access, so the stream or join link is available to ticket holders, and only to ticket holders, inside the window before the event begins.

ai New

🚀 Unleash AI Power in Charitable!

Your AI assistant can now build, edit, and manage your Charitable fundraising campaigns directly — just by asking. With Charitable Pro adding write support for the WordPress Abilities API, tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor can handle full administrative actions safely through MCP. Why this is important:

  • 🤖 Campaign creation in plain language: Prompt your assistant with a goal like “Set up a fundraiser for the shelter with a $5,000 goal”, and it builds a real draft campaign complete with suggested donation tiers.
  • 🎨 Instant donation form tweaks: Add custom fields, change button colors, or reorder elements without diving into form settings.
  • 📝 Offline gift logging: Tell your assistant about cash or check gifts, and it will match donor emails and record transactions into your history.
  • 🛡️ Safety and control by default: Write access stays strictly off until turned on in Charitable » Tools » AI MCP, keeping read-only reporting safe by default.
  • 📜 Full audit logging: Every change made by an AI assistant is tracked under Charitable » Tools » Logs, so you always know who (or what) updated your site.

Improvement Payments

💰 Accept Recurring Donations with Windcave and Charitable

A donor sets their gift up once on Windcave’s secure payment page, and Charitable bills every renewal after that on schedule. Why this is important:

🏦 Organizations banked in New Zealand or Australia: monthly giving on the gateway your bank already set you up with, with no second processor to onboard.
⛪ Churches taking regular tithes and offerings: congregants set their own schedule once, which is the simplest way to launch recurring church giving without a separate platform.
🌏 Groups with donors in several currencies: Windcave handles more than 20, so a supporter can give in the currency they actually hold.
📅 Operating funds rather than one-time campaigns: switch on Recurring Only mode and the one-off option disappears, so every gift to that campaign is a subscription.
🧾 Teams with no developer on staff: 3 sets of credentials pasted into a settings page, and no code anywhere.

automation update

⚡ Visual Automation Builder: Drag and Drop With No Code!

Charitable Automation Connect 2.3.0 introduces the Visual Automation Builder, a full-screen canvas that lays each automation out as a flow of connected cards: a trigger, optional conditions, and a list of actions that run in order.

🧩 Many actions, one trigger: Tag a donor, send an email, add a note, and fire a webhook from a single event, dragged into any order.

✉️ Act inside Charitable: New Send Email, Tag Donor, and Add Donor Note actions run with no external service required.

🔤 Merge tags: Personalize emails and notes with live fields like {first_name}, {total}, and {campaign_name}.

🔁 Apply to existing donors: Run Tag Donor and Add Donor Note against the donors you already have.

🖥️ Canvas or Simple: Switch views anytime, and automations built before 2.3.0 keep working unchanged.
