As of Charitable 1.8.7 Square is a built in as a gateway without having the need to add our Charitable Stripe addon. The latest version of Square built into the core of Charitable is easier to connect and uses more modern APIs and offers more flexibility and features than the Charitable Square (beta).

You have the Charitable Square (beta) add-on installed you might see this message when attempting to activate the Square (legacy) gateway if you have the Square core gateway active.

You might also see a similar message if you have Square legacy gateway active (via the Charitable Square add-on) and attempt to activate the Square core gateway.

Why You Are Seeing This Message

Switching between legacy and core Square integrations will likely disconnect your account from Square requiring you to reconnect (via Square Connect or via API keys depending on what integration was activated).

Recommendations

Our recommendation is if you are currently using the Charitable Square legacy addon then that will be still the best choice to keep using.
