Do you need your fundraising numbers for a board meeting, a funder update or your finance team? Charitable lets you download your reports as a PDF or export them as a CSV file in one click.
This guide covers which format to pick, where to find each export button, and how to make sure the export shows the figures you want.
Exporting saves you from screenshotting the dashboard or retyping figures into a document the night before a meeting.
Report exports are available in version 1.8.19 of the Charitable Pro plugin.
What’s In This Guide?
Choosing PDF or CSV
Each format suits a different reader.
- PDF is a finished document with the chart included. Pick it for a board pack or a funder update, where people will read the numbers.
- CSV is a spreadsheet file. Pick it when someone wants to work with the numbers, such as your finance team checking them against their own records.
Downloading a PDF
You can download a PDF from 2 places.
- From the Reports Overview. Under Charitable » Reports, set your campaign and date range, then click “Download PDF” at the top right.
- From the dashboard. Under Charitable » Dashboard, pick your period, then click the download icon at the top right of the chart.

Your browser will save the PDF to your downloads folder, ready to attach or print.
Exporting a CSV
To export the whole summary as a spreadsheet, go to Charitable » Reports, set your campaign and date range, and click “Export CSV” at the top right.
You can open the file in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or any other spreadsheet app.
Exporting a Single Section
Some sections of the report have their own “Download CSV” button, such as Donations Breakdown. Use it when you only need that one table, not the whole summary.
Note: Every export uses the campaign, category and date range you’ve picked at the top of the page. Set those first, then export.
Tips Worth Keeping in Mind
A few habits that make exports easier to use.
- Download the PDF the week before a board meeting, so you have time to add notes.
- Name each file with its date range when you save it, so you can find it again next quarter.
- If your board wants the numbers every week, send them the weekly summary email instead.
FAQs on Exporting Reports
Does the PDF include the chart?
Yes. The PDF includes the chart along with your figures.
Can I export one campaign on its own?
Yes. Pick the campaign from the dropdown on the Reports Overview and click “Filter” before you export.
Why is my export empty?
No donations match your current filters. Try a wider date range, then export again.
Wrapping Up
You now know when to use a PDF or a CSV, where to find each export button, and how to export a single section.
