Youth And Women At The Centre, Not At The Margins

Across all five areas, Forecasted Africa sets participation targets for youth and women rather than treating their involvement as a reporting afterthought. The reasoning it gives is demographic: people under 35 make up the majority of Tanzania’s population, and in the communities where it works, youth and women were the groups least represented in the planning and monitoring spaces where decisions were actually being made.

The practical form this takes is leadership workshops, entrepreneurial training, and a seat in the local forums where development priorities get set.
