We’re thrilled to introduce Charitable 1.7.0.8 which gives our users greater control over their campaigns than ever before.

Importing and Exporting

In Charitable 1.7.0.8, we have introduced a new Tools tab with new Import and Export capabilities. You can now import and export Charitable campaigns and Charitable donations. This allows you to quickly set up campaigns on dedicated sites or quickly launch new donation platforms with a few clicks.

We will continue to expand on this functionality in the coming months with ability to import and export recurring donations and peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns.

New Campaign Controls

In addition to the new import/export features, we’ve introduced brand new campaign controls get the most donations possible from each campaign.

  • Ability to set a minimum donation amount for a campaign.
  • Ability to set a default one-time donation amount for a campaign.
  • Ability to choose where you wish the minimum donation message should appear on the donation form.
  • Greater flexibility to choose where notice and validation messages appear on a donation form.
  • Defining a highlight color that you can easy apply to your donation buttons and messages without code.

Addon Donations Improvement

🎈Recurring Donations 2.0: Smarter Automation, Better Recovery, and More Control

We’ve completely rebuilt our Recurring Donations system to help you grow your reliable income stream while giving you (and your donors) more powerful tools than ever before. It isn’t just an update – it’s a major step forward in making your fundraising effortless and your revenue more resilient.

What’s New:

🔒 Recurring-Only Campaigns: Some fundraisers—like monthly giving circles or ongoing sponsorship programs—aren’t built for one-time gifts. Now, you can toggle “Recurring Only” mode in the campaign builder to hide the one-time option entirely, ensuring your supporters stay focused on long-term commitment.

📧 Automatic Payment Recovery: Failed payments are a silent revenue killer. Our new Payment Failed Email fires automatically the moment a subscription fails. It sends a warm, customizable notification directly to the donor, helping them fix expired cards or insufficient funds before the gift is lost for good.

🛠️ Self-Service Donor Control: Build deeper trust by giving donors the power to manage their own giving. The new Cancel Subscription Button appears directly in the donor dashboard, allowing supporters to pause or end their recurring gifts on their own terms—reducing your admin burden and payment disputes.

📊 Real-Time Revenue Insights: Get a clearer picture of your financial health with the updated MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) Dashboard. Track your growth, monitor active subscriptions, and see exactly how much predictable support is coming in each month at a glance.

Whether you’re launching a new “coffee club” or just want to stop losing revenue to expired credit cards, our new Recurring Donations addon gives you the professional-grade tools you need to grow your mission.

🧡 Modal Donate Button: Turn Any Click into a Contribution

Instead of redirecting users to a new URL, the lightweight Modal Donation Button allows donors to complete their gift in a sleek, focused popup, keeping them engaged with your content while they support your cause.

What’s New:

  • Zero-Friction Giving: Open your donation form in a responsive modal overlay. Donors stay on the same page, reducing drop-off.

  • 🖱️ Place it Anywhere: Use the dedicated WordPress block or a simple shortcode to drop a donate button into sidebars, footers, or even mid-sentence in your storytelling.

  • 🎨 Full Design Control: Match your brand perfectly with customizable background colors, hover effects, border radius, and font sizes—all without touching a single line of CSS.

Whether you need a simple “Donate Now” link or a high-converting popup button, the Modal Donate Button gives you the flexibility to raise more with less effort.
