Charitable is an excellent plugin for implementing donation and financial support functionality on a website. When our Stripe account application was unexpectedly rejected, thanks to Charitable's support for Square, we were able to offer credit card payments without needing a Stripe account. Even when we encountered issues during implementation, the support team was incredibly kind, patient, and thorough—thanks to their dedication, we were able to successfully launch the feature.

We've tried some of the other donation management systems, but they were way too expensive and, as a small org, we didn't need all the features we were paying for. Charitable Pro is just right for us. Everything works so well right out of the box, integrates perfectly with our WordPress site, and is so user friendly. Also, support is responsive & effective.

Just like everybody says, great value and great support. We moved from another plugin and have found the set up really easy. We had one small support request and it was handled quickly and professionally. We are impressed by the simplicity of the donation form and process, which means more completions for our non-profit clients. Good integrations make linking with Mailchimp and payment platforms nice and easy. I'll be recommending Charitable to every new client that wants to do online fundraising.

Very flexible, lots of options, great value for money. Probably the best recommendation I can give is that our donations increased 5-fold after installing Charitable — people like online activities to be easy, and the plugin does that for charity donations. Charitable really makes it possible to do a lot of great things like give people a chance to cover the transaction fee, leave testimonials, and doesn't add an additional transaction fee at all. It's an incredible value. Plus they've made it easy to make changes. We added fields, added a sentence in the middle of the form, removed fields, changed up styling on the forms, all in just a few hours thanks to the help they provided. Charitable is easy to use. It doesn't confuse with a million and one (I know, exaggeration) setting and options. It installs quickly and without drama. Everything about it is explained clearly and in words that any literate person should understand. Above all, the service is superb. I have rarely found support as prompt, courteous, perceptive and responsive as this.

I manage the English website and fundraising for an international non-profit. This plugin is literally 20x cheaper than what we were paying for Classy's service. At double the price it would be a bargain. There are some tweaks I'd like to see, but on the whole, I can't praise the Charitable team enough for their amazing plugin. Charitable seemed to come with all the needed features including Gift Aid. We liked the way it looked and displayed the campaigns but we made the final decision based on two important things: 1: Charitable is really easy to set up and manage. No need to be a super programmer. There is good documentation. and 2: Support is brilliant!

There was a little bit of a learning curve that I leaned into at first, reading the documentation. After that, I reached out to Charitable support with the questions that I couldn't figure out. I had been searching far-and-wide for a WordPress plugin to create peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns that I could integrate with an events calendar and to sell tickets. Surprisingly there is not a wide selection in this niche. Charitable, along with the Ambassadors add-on, is exactly what I needed.

I am not a WordPress expert by any stretch of the means. This plugin was great right from the start. It was easy to set up and the Charitable themes available are also great to utilize. I was able to add fields to the donation form by tweaking some of the donation form's code. This was fairly easy to do utilizing Charitable's excellent library of instructions that show how to tweak parts of the donation form's code. When I ran into some trouble and needed guidance, I emailed Charitable for some support and was shown nothing but great assistance from their staff.

Charitable works great for our nonprofit's page, and the service is SUPERB. Couldn't recommend it more highly.

The guys behind this tool are amazing. Eric and Wes have helped me out several times the past few weeks. They've helped me troubleshoot a bad theme that was overriding settings, where the theme author refused to help. And they've helped explain things to me when I wasn't articulate. The plugin works well. We can process payments with stripe! Stripe provides all the admin side that we need. I've had to do very little config. You do need to know a bit of code — or how to navigate code — to make changes, but any front-end developer/designer shouldn't have an issue. And having the code as an option, you can extend however you wish, making it incredibly powerful

Charitable work really well and is very easy to set up. We've combined Charitable with Reach and though it may seem like a simple theme, you can easily make a great looking website with the help from Slider Revolution and a little custom css (which the support team is quick to provide). It also works well with several plugins (such as Use Any Font and Loco Translater). We could pick this combo any day!

Charitable is a cost-effective but excellent solution and with Charitable Ambassadors it's also an easy way to let people raise money for your causes. Eric was very helpful and supportive. Highly recommended!

We wanted to be able to collect donations and started to look for options. This was the first one I found and stopped looking once I tried it. The plugin is very easy to use. In a matter of minutes I had it up and running and collecting donations. I was also able to easily customize the thank you letter people get after donating. Also people are loving the option to see who has donated as it inspires more to donate. When I needed a new field to be collected, technical support was able to help me out and get me going. Great plugin!

I tried the plugin 'Give' first, but I just couldn't get it to work, it would freeze my WP dashboard. I found this plugin which has the same feature that I could add campaigns with a specific donation option that I can add to my pages. I did have a struggle in the beginning how exactly to put the campaigns on my page using the shortcode options, but the support has been very helpful and I managed to to have everything as I want it. I also wanted to change some advanced features that were not in the standard options, but most of them I could change by adding snippets. Overall a great plugin and free! When I feel I need to take my donations to the next level, there is a paid upgrade available as well. Thanks!

I tried "Give" before this plugin but I really couldn't figure it out and found it frustrating. I didn't experience any of the issues I had with Give with Charitable. I needed some help setting it up and Eric was amazingly helpful. He answered all my questions and helped me get it all working — and I'm a bit of a noob so I had a bunch of questions for him. I've been developing a crowdfunding site for the nonprofit I volunteer for. This was the first time I used WordPress, so my skills even now are not great. I would definitely recommend the Ambassadors add-on to others. It does exactly what it says and exactly what my organization has always wanted. The plugin is great. Even better, the customer service has been top notch. As a WordPress beginner, I've had a lot of questions I felt embarrassed to ask. I asked them anyway. The response time has been great and the troubleshooting process has made me feel like they really care. There's a bunch of code snippets available, some of which were made by staff because of questions I had, which is much appreciated. Overall, the plugin deserves the highest rating I can give. I need to setup a champaign to raise money for Rwanda clean water noThirstyChild.org, found this plug-in and it has everything I needed. However, I bump into an issue that the money amount doesn't show up on receipt … the clock is ticking so I contacted the support, within 30 minutes I got an email from support and pin pointed the exact problem. I need to set the allow custom amount option. THANK YOU so much, Eric, for your help. Rwanda children will thank you too!

What a relief. I had been spending months looking for a good, affordable, crowdfunding theme. There aren't too many out there and the ones that are, are clunky and not too attractive. Charitable had the look I desired, the the percentage meter and a live countdown clock, social media sharing, it has it all. If you are doing peer to peer, like true crowdsourcing, Charitable has that covered too. It is a paid upgrade and I recommend buying the Pro package. It is money well spent. Along the way the support was great.

As a nonprofit with a shoestring budget, I can't simply turn over website duties to a well-paid pro, which means I have to muddle through a lot of things on my own with a minimal amount of tech know-how. I struggled getting set up and figured after about 4 or 5 email exchanges with Charitable's support, they'd throw me out the window. Instead, they kept going back and forth with me even when I'd hit a brick wall. They weren't going to let the situation end with a "looks like you've got a problem on your end" and leave it at that. They made queries and suggestions until we figured out the few quirks with my server and such. Now, it works like a charm.

Extremely user-friendly, looks better than all the similar plugins, and support has been nearly instantaneous, and excellent. Thanks!

I purchased Charitable to help shape a fundraising site for our annual town walk. It stood out from a lot of the other fundraising solutions as having true peer-to-peer functionality, allowing public users to create their own "teams" or "campaigns" and help raise money to a good cause. So far, I have been able to customize the product to what fits our needs. The code is all very well commented an configuring was very easy! Eric from customer support was incredibly fast and easy to work with in all my questions. If I suggested a feature that we would want to use, I would usually get an email the next day with a progress update or the feature straight away! This team helped put my mind at ease as far as rolling out our website in less than two weeks. I should note that the Peer-to-Peer was an additional extension to purchase, but seeing as they don't take a cut of donations, it was a very fair business model. All in all, I highly suggest giving Charitable a look if you need a fundraising or peer-to-peer solution to WordPress.

I absolutely fell in love with Charitable out of the box! Unfortunately, I had trouble getting a feature working. I wrote to customer support and Eric worked with me to figure out what the issue was. He was really helpful and looked into the problem even though it may not have been Charitable related. I'll be happily using Charitable for a while yet!

We are using Charitable for Matchme.org, our crowdfunding platform for matching campaigns and could not be happier with it. The plugin is incredibly easy to use and does exactly what it's supposed to. We researched other WordPress crowdfunding plugins extensively and went with Charitable because of it's great UI/UX and team. The 164a guys seem to genuinely want Charitable's users to love the product. In the rare event that we need assistance understanding a feature, they're incredibly responsive with clear instructions. We're grateful that we found Charitable in time to build our site and we highly recommend it.

This plugin is fabulous! My client's non-profit cannot afford more fees… and this plugin is free… with no additional fees. Plus, when I noticed a weird little glitch in the Chrome browser on a Mac, they fixed it right away. My thanks to the developers for a great plugin and for really fabulous support.

I stumbled upon this plugin while doing an extensive search for donation plugins on the WordPress directory. I was initially hesitant, but decided to give it a try. I found it very easy to setup, configure settings, and customize the CSS styles to my liking. Would like to see some minor improvements, but I'm sure the developers will work it out in future releases. Well done!

I admit, I do not readily write plugin reviews. That's my bad, really, and I want to change that behavior starting now. I really am so excited about this plugin. I discovered it only a few days after its release, because I was / am working on a project that needs fundraising functionality. I've tried the few other fundraising plugin possibilities out there and was disappointed or just plain frustrated. But WP Charitable just works. Beautiful front end design, easy to customize, and logically structured. And it's obvious to me that Eric and other developers are committed to making this plugin an amazing Fundraising plugin for WordPress. Great support. We are using now on a site that helps high school students raise money for college and are super excited about the WP Charitable extensions that are in development.
