Black Art Culture & Education Inc. (BACE) is a vibrant nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, celebrating, and educating about Black art and culture while inspiring educational pursuits within the community.
Rooted in a commitment to uplift Black lives, foster solidarity, and ignite courageous joy, BACE honors African history and the diverse Black diaspora worldwide.
Formerly known as African American Culture and Arts Festival Inc., BACE has evolved to embrace a broader mission focused on healing, education, justice, safety, and liberation.
Supporting Artists and Teaching Historical Truths
BACE’s core work revolves around supporting Black artists, amplifying their voices, and sharing the often overlooked truths of Black history.
Their programming weaves together arts, culture, knowledge, and solidarity – creating spaces where Black brilliance and liberation shine. This approach fosters community engagement and encourages joy and empowerment through creative expression.

- Their vision embraces the diversity of the global Black diaspora. They strive to bring people together – believing that by seeing themselves in each other, communities can unite in solidarity toward collective liberation.
- Through their work, BACE aims to support artists, teach historical truths, and inspire what they call “courageous joy.” Their commitment is to ensure that Black voices – past, present and future – are uplifted and honored through art, culture, knowledge, and community engagement.
Programs and Community Engagement
BACE runs a variety of programs and projects aligned with their mission and values. These initiatives focus on cultural education, artistic celebration, community building, and historical preservation.
One flagship initiative is their annual cultural festival (the African American Culture & Arts Festival), which brings together artists, performers, vendors, and community members for a day of music, dance, poetry, visual arts, food, and family-friendly activities. The festival is free and open to all – a celebration of heritage, creativity, and community.
